first year the returns were distributed, 300,000 SEK was allocated between the award recipient, Holger Militz, and the collaboration between the professor&#8217;s German university and Linnaeus University.<\/p>\n<p><span>2018 Professor Simon Aicher received 400,000 SEK, with an equal amount distributed to support the collaboration between his university and Linnaeus University.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>2020 Professor Heli Peltola was awarded 400,000 SEK, and 600,000 SEK was allocated for research collaboration with Linnaeus University.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>2022 the award was presented to Professor Stavros Avramidis, Head of the Department of Wood Science, Faculty of Forestry, University of British Columbia (UBC), with 500,000 SEK awarded to the recipient and 500,000 SEK for research collaboration with Linnaeus University.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>2024 the recipients are Professor Josef Eberhardsteiner and Professor Josef F\u00fcssl from Technische Universit\u00e4t Wien, with 300,000 SEK awarded to each recipient and 500,000 SEK for research collaboration with Linnaeus University.<\/p>\n<p>The award is presented biennially and aims to promote There is a large potential for further collaboration, including exchange of PhD students that are currently under recruitment. In the area of wood drying, Prof.<\/p>\n<p>Avramidis has been the leading researcher for the last twenty-five years in developing and commercializing radio frequency vacuum (RFV) drying as a high tech alternative drying to kilns for timbers and high quality wood.<\/p>\n<p>The research encompasses proof of concept and the development of a system that requires swift sawmill evaluation systems based on near-infrared spectroscopy. Prof. Avramidis has published more than 200 papers. Over the past 25 years, she has conducted high-quality research with a substantial number of published articles in top-ranked journals. Linnaeus University received an equal share of 400,000 SEK, which was accepted by Rector Peter Aronsson, to develop a collaboration in timber and construction technology with Dr. Simon Aicher over the coming years.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>\n<p>He is acknowledged as a prime expert for adhesive and bonding issues of wood. Dr Aicher is internationally considered as one of the leading experts regarding standardization, quality management and scientific development in glued structural elements and structural adhesives. He is also well recognized for his work on development of non-destructive testing methods for timber, especially ultrasound burst localization and ultrasound shear-wave reflection methods for detection of glue-line defects.<\/p>\n<p>During his energetic leadership the institute has gained outstanding world-wide recognition in the field of timber engineering. cell-wall nanopore configuration and distribution in correlation with molecular modelling of water sorption at those levels. In the area of wood drying, Prof.<\\\/p>\\n\n\n<p>Avramidis has been the leading researcher for the last twenty-five years in developing and commercializing radio frequency vacuum (RFV) drying as a high tech alternative drying to kilns for timbers and high quality wood.<\\\/p>\\n\n\n<p>The research encompasses proof of concept and the development of a system that requires swift sawmill evaluation systems based on near-infrared spectroscopy. Prof. Avramidis has published more than 200 papers.
